Our Joshua Programme

This is a vision where this ministry is aiming to strategise on effective means of reaching the younger generation.  It is  so unfortunate that our younger generation today are the ones reaping the consequences of the wrong deeds of the older generation. They are the ones bearing the brunt of sharp increase in divorce rates, breakdown in traditional family and moral values, overexposure to wild andphysiologicallydamaging social influences.

 

Statistics are revealing some alarming trends
  • Africa has more than 12 million Aids Orphans.
  • 50% of all new HIV infections are occurring among young children.
  • Poverty, sexual violence and sex trafficking make young people more vulnerable to HIV/AIDS infection.
  • About 2,000 children daily are infected.
  • An estimated 10 million children are commercially, sexually exploited worldwide.
  • 5-6 million children under 5 die every year from hunger related diseases.
  • An estimated 50-60 million children younger than age 12 yrs labour in the worst form of child labour.
  • In India alone there are 800,000 kids on the street earning equivalent to twenty cents a day.
  • A U.S. survey estimated the financial cost of ending hunger as relatively low.
  • The basic nutritional needs of the world's poorest children could be met for an additional $19 billion a year.
  • As consumers, worldwide we spend $18 billion on make up alone.
  • In Britain everyday 450 children take up smoking.
  • More than 60% of British school pupils know at least one pupil who takes drugs.
  • In the U.S. alone, there are 50,000 reported cases of child abuse weekly.
  • Nearly 40% of the children in the U.S. are being raised without fathers. 
  • If the current trends continue 40% - 50% of all marriages will end in divorce.
  • Divorce rates are virtually the same among born again believers as and non-believers
  • Fatherless children are 3 times more likely to fail school, require psychiatric treatment or commit suicide compared to other adolescents.
